Pork & Biscuits

Friday night I had dinner at Addi's with Kylie and Amanda. It was a fun night and Addi made pork roast with all kinds of delicious seeds and gravy. She had made the same thing a few days earlier, and I got pictures! Our dinner also included biscuits and a few varieties of wine.

Yummm! I'm glad my sister can put aside her fears of cooking in the name of her love for food!

Christmas Feast

I know I'm pretty late on this whole update thing, but here are the pictures from our Christmas feast of delicious roast beast gravy. To eat our fantastic roast gravy we made cayenne pepper fries to add some spice to life. They were, of course, delicious in every way and the perfect dip-able accessory to our homemade gravy.

Salisbury Puke

GIMME SOME GRAVVVYYYYYY!

Winter break is ending for the college kids, which means Lindsey's time with us in Omaha is also over. Cate and I met her for breakfast the day she left, at Cecil's, which is basically like paying to eat at your Grandma's or weird uncle's house. It is cheap and delicious! Lindsey and I both ordered biscuits and gravy, which appeared to be made with those little biscuits out of a can. Awesome! This place never pretends to be classy, and I admire that. Cate ate something that had no gravy and was therefore irrelevant, though admittedly probably better than our canned biscuits. French toast and eggs? Ha!

In other adventures with food this week, I decided to try the frozen "family size Salisbury steaks with gravy" that came in a big box of free food. I really wished I could take pictures, because it was a disgusting sight. Unfortunately my battery charger is missing, so the camera is currently out of commission. The "steaks" were grey roundish blobs, the gravy was mostly kind of watery and salty, and Cate said the whole mess tasted "like fifth grade." Pretty gross, but edible. I managed to eat a fair amount, and Eric came over and enjoyed a couple as well. I call that a successful experiment- no puke, no hospitals, no major kitchen fires or explosions.

Oh yeah, and we just got a new roommate- WELCOME HOME JAGGY!
